Privacy
How we handle information on the public site, learn demo, and free Prep Kit tools. When accounts and billing launch, this page will be updated with full detail.
Short version: most practice data stays in your browser until you choose to share it. We use lightweight product telemetry to improve the experience. We do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
- Server and CDN logs: when you load pages, your host may record standard request metadata (for example IP address, user agent, and URL requested).
- Product telemetry: the site sends anonymous usage events (for example which buttons were clicked or which lesson step was viewed) to our servers via
/api/telemetry. Events may include coarse product context such as lesson identifiers, prep-kit step names, or first-touch marketing attribution stored in your browser session. - Contact form: if you write through Contact, we process the fields you submit (and any session attribution attached) so we can reply. Messages may be delivered by our email provider.
- Portion library interest: if you tap “notify me” for a parashah, we store an anonymous count on our server — not your email unless you contact us separately.
What stays on your device
Unless you export or sync progress (when those features are available), the following are stored locally in your browser and are not tied to an account today:
- Learn demo: lesson progress, display preferences, hub resume pointers, and related practice state in local storage.
- Prep Kit OS: reading dates, plan snapshots, audience choice, and print/share handoff state in local or session storage.
- Practice recordings: if you record yourself in the demo, audio may be stored in your browser (IndexedDB) until you delete it or clear site data.
- Marketing attribution: first-touch UTM parameters for the current browser session in session storage.
How we use information
We use information to operate and improve the product, respond to inquiries, measure which features help families and tutors, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
We rely on hosting and CDN infrastructure for delivery, an email provider to deliver contact messages when configured, and open-source fonts documented on our open-source licenses page. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this site.
Your choices
Clear site data in your browser to remove locally stored learn, prep-kit, and recording state. In the learn demo you can also export and import progress backups. For access, correction, or deletion requests, reach us via Contact.
Children and families
Torah Sync is built for bar and bat mitzvah preparation with family and tutor involvement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through account sign-up today because accounts are not live yet. If you believe a child submitted personal information through Contact, let us know and we will delete it.
